The second edition of AVL SUMMIT by AFIAL took place on 7 and 8 October at La Nave in Madrid.
The programme was aimed at manufacturers, distributors, systems integrators, technicians and other professionals from the audio, lighting and audiovisual technology sectors.
The scheduled activities addressed technical aspects of audiovisual production, ranging from networking and radio frequency systems to sound capture and the organisation of large-scale events. The programme also featured insights and experiences shared by professionals involved in various productions.
A programme focused on audiovisual technology
The organisers provided a 6,000 m² exhibition area, six rooms for educational activities and an auditorium with a capacity of 600 people. These spaces hosted the technical sessions and presentations scheduled across the two days.

The exhibition brought together solutions for professional audio, lighting, video and audiovisual integration. The educational activities, meanwhile, addressed aspects of the day-to-day work of technicians, designers, operators and systems integrators, covering both fixed installations and live productions.
The programme included sessions on control networks, radio frequency, sound capture and the technical planning of live shows, alongside case studies drawn from specific productions.
Lighting networks, radio frequency and production case studies
The first day, held on Wednesday 7 October, included sessions dedicated to networking for lighting systems and the future of radio frequency in live entertainment.
Both subjects are closely related to the technical requirements of many productions. Networks play a role in data distribution and the control of lighting equipment, while radio frequency management affects the operation of wireless systems used in concerts, live performances and other events.
The programme also explored several audiovisual production experiences, including the sound reinforcement for the Pope's visit to Madrid and the production of La Velada. These case studies formed part of the sessions dedicated to large-scale projects and productions.

The second day expanded the technical programme
Further technical sessions and demonstrations were scheduled for Thursday 8 October. Among the announced topics was audio capture in MotoGP, alongside training activities focused on professional sound systems and content related to lighting and video for stage productions.
Capturing sound in sporting competitions presents different working conditions from those encountered in musical performances or fixed installations. Its inclusion in the programme extended the scope of the sessions beyond stages and event venues.
The lighting and video activities completed a programme covering a range of technical disciplines within audiovisual production.
Manufacturers and distributors at the exhibition
Participating companies included Audio-Technica, Midwich, Stonex and Acson, alongside other businesses involved in professional audiovisual equipment.
