Nuevo Tecnoluz has implemented a UDE public address and voice evacuation system for the San Juan de Alicante Local Police.
The San Juan de Alicante Local Police Headquarters has installed a new public address and voice evacuation system based on UDE technology. Developed by Nuevo Tecnoluz, the project integrates announcements, background music and emergency messages into a single installation, ensuring compliance with EN 54 standards and the prioritised management of communications in the event of an evacuation.

UDEVAC-500, the core of the security system
The installation is built around the UDEVAC-500 system, comprising the SLA-500M controller and SLA-500S expansion module, which manage the building’s voice alarm system.
During the building’s normal operation, the system enables the broadcasting of announcements and background audio. If the fire detection system is activated, UDEVAC-500 automatically takes control, prioritising the broadcast of evacuation messages in accordance with EN 54 standards and temporarily suspending all other audio signals.
The solution also includes EPD-501 and EPD-4241 power amplifiers, the PZ-500 remote paging microphone and five MX-1888 remote control modules, all forming part of the building’s public address infrastructure.
The MX-1800 matrix adapts the system to multipurpose rooms
One of the project’s most notable features is the incorporation of the MX-1800 digital matrix, an 8x8 audio solution with DSP that adapts the system’s operation to the variable configuration of the meeting rooms.
The building has a multipurpose space divided by movable walls, allowing it to function either as a single large-capacity room or as four independent rooms. Thanks to the MX-1800 matrix, the system electronically adapts audio distribution according to the space’s configuration while maintaining coordinated operation throughout the installation.
In the event of an evacuation, the matrix automatically interrupts any audio playback or microphone use and ensures that emergency messages are given priority in the affected areas.
EN 54-24-certified loudspeakers
The installation incorporates more than 190 AP-156EN ceiling loudspeakers, five AP-206EN surface-mounted loudspeakers, eight AP-710EN sound projectors and thirteen AP-720EN units. All are certified in accordance with the EN 54-24 standard, providing a solution suitable for both indoor spaces and areas requiring sound projectors with different levels of coverage and protection.
The project is completed by five MR-400M wireless microphone systems and a Caymon SPR612 rack cabinet, incorporating all the elements required for centralised system management.
UDE technology for public buildings
The installation at the San Juan de Alicante Local Police Headquarters demonstrates the versatility of UDE solutions for projects where everyday public address and voice evacuation must coexist within a single infrastructure, providing centralised audio management tailored to the requirements of each space and prepared to respond with the highest priority in the event of an emergency.
