The Three Acres gastropub updates its space with an Atmosphere AZM8P system from AtlasIED serving eight zones.
POLAR supplies the Atmosphere system from AtlasIED for the installation carried out by Posynergi in this multi-use venue in the county of Yorkshire.
Located among the rolling Pennine hills in Roydhouse near Huddersfield, Three Acres has been a family-run pub since 1968. With an enviable reputation as a destination gastropub, the building suffered a devastating fire in late 2023 that forced a prolonged closure for a complete refurbishment. After overcoming this major setback, the pub has returned renewed and stronger than ever, with a completely redesigned layout that has delighted both regulars and new visitors. In addition to its excellent culinary offering, the pub also hosts weddings, private events, and live entertainment.

Recognising the importance of having a quality sound system throughout the venue, the Three Acres team turned to their regular AV provider and integrator, Posynergi (Huddersfield), to install a flexible, high-quality zoned audio system capable of adapting to the venue’s diverse needs.
At the heart of the system is an 8-zone Atmosphere signal processor from AtlasIED, supplied by the brand’s UK distributor, POLAR, who also provided design support and commissioning.
The goal was to deliver exceptional sound quality, simple control for staff, and flexible input options for visiting performers—all without compromising the venue’s elegant aesthetic. In total, seven independent audio zones were created, each designed to meet specific operational and acoustic needs. These included the bar area, private dining room, function room, reception, corridors, restrooms, and outdoor terrace—with each requiring different setups such as background music, live performances, DJ sets, streaming playlists, presentations and speeches, comments Mark Bracken of POLAR.

To achieve the required flexibility, the system was built around the AtlasIED Atmosphere digital audio platform. Its modular design and intuitive control make it the ideal choice for a busy hospitality environment where staff must manage multiple spaces quickly and efficiently throughout their shifts.
Posynergi installed an AtlasIED AZM8P 8-zone audio processor with built-in amplification, providing DSP, zone routing, and source control for all seven areas. Several AtlasIED zone controllers were discreetly wall-mounted in key locations, enabling easy volume adjustment and source selection. AtlasIED Remote Input Panels (XLR/RCA) were installed in the function room and bar, offering plug-and-play connectivity for performers, while an Atmosphere Bluetooth receiver in the private dining area allows guests to stream music from their devices. Additionally, an ArtSound SMART ZONE 4 (4-room multi-room streamer), also supplied by POLAR, provides four additional channels of online music content.
Bracken continues: “The installation was carefully coordinated to align with the overall refurbishment. As the renovation progressed, the system design evolved, and Posynergi demonstrated great flexibility in adapting the solution on the fly, coordinating with the venue’s needs to complete a modern audio infrastructure”.

The Three Acres Inn now boasts a state-of-the-art distributed audio system that enhances ambience, simplifies operations, and supports every aspect of its hospitality offering. We worked closely with POLAR’s Mark Bracken to design and commission the system. Atmosphere’s web-based configuration enabled seamless commissioning and remote tuning, ensuring optimal sound balance throughout the venue, adds Steve Cartlidge of Posynergi.
