Daktronics delivers a high-resolution viewing experience to Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School.
The company, in collaboration with Pro AV Systems, has manufactured and installed a new dvLED display for Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School in New Bedford, Massachusetts. The display was installed during the summer months and was commissioned ahead of the start of the school year.

The display features Daktronics’ latest dvLED innovation with COB (Chip On Board) technology. It measures approximately 3.35 metres high by 6.10 metres wide and features a tight 1.5-millimetre pixel pitch to deliver higher-resolution imagery. This technology provides a more robust solution, limiting the risk of damage to the display from accidental contact during use or installation.
Located in the school’s main hallway and atrium area, the display is visible to students throughout the school day and during class changes, delivering strong day-to-day impact. It can be used to provide relevant school updates, share news items and deliver other special messages as needed.

Daktronics’ range of products featuring COB technology spans pixel pitches from 2.5 millimetres down to 0.7 millimetres and incorporates enhanced component reliability. This technology generates less heat at the display surface and eliminates wire bonds to increase reliability. It also reduces power consumption, resulting in a lower total cost of ownership over time, and features a Daktronics-designed encapsulant for improved contrast.
