In Pereira, a city located in the Colombian Coffee Axis region, the gastronomic offer is extremely varied.

Two iconic restaurants in the Colombian city of Pereira share the use of Bose Professional DesignMax loudspeaker technology and the expertise of MovilPlay, a local audiovisual solutions integrator.

The restaurants strive to provide unique experiences to their customers in a bustling commercial, tourist, and social environment. This constant competition is reflected in all aspects, from the quality of the dishes to interior design, musical diversity, and sound clarity.

Two prominent and unique Pereira restaurants, Zelva Rooftop and O’Brasileiro Rodizio, offer distinct concepts but converge on high-quality service and the use of Bose Professional technology for their distributed audio systems.

At O’Brasileiro Rodizio, waiters move around tables offering a variety of meat cuts directly from the skewers they were cooked on. On the other hand, Zelva Rooftop stands out for its international cuisine with a Japanese twist and creative cocktails prepared by a bartender ranked among the top three mixologists in Colombia. While their menus differ significantly, both restaurants have opted for the local company MovilPlay, an audiovisual systems integrator, to design and implement their respective sound solutions.

In 2020, O’Brasileiro Rodizio relocated to a spacious venue spanning 1200 square meters across two floors and a terrace, nestled amidst nature on the road connecting Pereira and Armenia. Its new venue was tailored to the restaurant’s needs, with MovilPlay involved from the outset. The requirement was clear: the audio system had to play a crucial role in enhancing the customer experience, providing warm and welcoming sound with coverage throughout all areas. Furthermore, it needed to be versatile enough to play ambient music and amplify musicians performing daily on the small stage in the main hall.

Initially, the team at MovilPlay faced a challenging acoustic dilemma. Two sides of the restaurant feature large windows supported by a steel frame, allowing natural light to flood in but also causing sound reverberation. MovilPlay utilized Bose Professional’s Modeler software, a 3D modeling and acoustic analysis program, to analyze architectural plans and construction material specifications, determining the optimal location and height for speakers to achieve the desired coverage and performance, despite the venue’s size.
