Bose Professional has announced the global availability of the DesignMax Luna DML88P.
This is a new full-range pendant loudspeaker that combines an eight-transducer Ring Array™ design with an integrated 8-inch woofer. The system is designed to deliver high fidelity and uniform coverage in open-ceiling environments, maintaining a refined aesthetic and a design focused on professional installation.
The DesignMax Luna is aimed at spaces where sound and visual integration are equally important: retail stores, restaurants, gyms, offices, or venues with exposed ceilings where in-ceiling solutions are not feasible.

With a balanced profile and concealed wiring, the system can be suspended from one or two points, making installation easier and ensuring a clean finish from any angle.
At the heart of Luna lies Bose’s patented Ring Array configuration, which places eight precisely aligned 2-inch mid-high transducers around a central 8-inch woofer. This structure generates wide and even coverage without areas of excessive or diminished sound pressure and maintains a balanced response down to 40 Hz, eliminating the need for external subwoofers even in large or high-ceiling spaces.
The loudspeaker reaches a maximum SPL of 111 dB and offers 140° coverage, allowing it to cover large areas with fewer units, reducing both installation costs and visual impact. The result is consistent, natural sound throughout the space, with clear reproduction of voices and background music.
DesignMax Luna represents a significant step forward in the evolution of pendant loudspeakers. It combines sonic precision, aesthetics, and ease of installation in a single format — something especially sought after by system integrators and designers, said John Maier, CEO of Bose Professional.

For his part, Shawn Watts, Vice President of Product, concludes: “Luna is not an extension of the current range, but a complete solution. It replaces the traditional pendant speaker plus subwoofer configuration, delivering deep bass and balanced response in a single enclosure. It’s easy to specify, simple to hang, and visually integrates into any environment”.
