The KNX Executive Board met on September 24 in Dublin to appoint a new KNX President and Vice President.
The KNX Executive Board oversees the strategy, business and technical priorities of the KNX Association, which encompasses over 500 KNX Members and represents the interests of more than 125,000 KNX Partners in 190 countries.
Jean-Christophe Krieger, Product Director at Schneider Electric Industries S.A., has been appointed President of the KNX Association, following the retirement of Franz Kammerl from Siemens AG, who has served as President for the past 11 years. Jean-Christophe has been Schneider Electric's representative on the KNX Executive Board for the past 8 years, serving as Vice President since February 2021. Klaus Wächter from Siemens Schweiz AG assumes the role of new Vice President.
New leadership - A new vision for KNX
Jean-Christophe is one of the leading KNX experts in the world, with 17 years of extensive experience and knowledge. He will bring to the role of President his deep expertise in Energy Management and System Solutions, along with his broad international experience in project management and sales across multiple segments. One of Jean-Christophe's priorities is to rejuvenate the image of KNX.
We want KNX to be synonymous with 'peace of mind' for end customers, KNX partners, and manufacturers. With buildings representing 37% of CO2 emissions, KNX is constantly reinforcing its energy management capabilities to complement the already recognized and well-established automation solutions for buildings and homes, he comments.
A Vice President with extensive standardization experience
Klaus Wächter from Siemens Schweiz AG has been an indispensable member of the KNX Executive Board for several years. Klaus brings a wealth of experience as the Global Standardization Director at Siemens Smart Infrastructure/Building Products.
As Standardization Manager, heavily involved with IoT standardization, I look forward to helping define the future of KNX technology and KNX IoT in the coming years, adds Klaus.
