Ushio appoints Michael Phipps as the new president and CEO of Christie, following his tenure as COO and CFO within the company.
Christie’s parent company, Ushio Inc., has announced its decision to promote Michael Phipps to the role of president and chief executive officer of Christie Digital Systems, Inc. and its subsidiaries.
As of April 1, Phipps assumes the role of president and CEO, succeeding Takabumi Asahi, who held the position for two years and continues as CEO of Ushio Group, Inc. Phipps joined Christie in 2008, became chief financial officer in 2019, and was appointed president and chief operating officer in 2024.
“Over the past two years, Mike has successfully implemented operational initiatives and driven improvements in our product offering and processes to better serve our customers and markets. His leadership has been instrumental in the company’s transformation, and his passion for the cinema and professional audiovisual sectors will lead the organization confidently into the future”, says Takabumi Asahi, CEO of Ushio Group, Inc.
The industry is constantly evolving, but our customers remain at the core of everything we do. We listen to understand the challenges they face and work collaboratively to help bring their vision to life, enabling them to leverage our technology to create unforgettable experiences. I would like to thank Mr. Asahi for his guidance over the past two years, and I look forward to continuing to work closely with our customers and employees in my new role, says Phipps.
