The Mariano Bula Stadium, located in the city of Colón, is an iconic temple of baseball in Panama.

With deep historical and social significance, this venue has been the birthplace of great sports legends and their achievements. Its recent comprehensive modernization process has included the upgrade of its communication infrastructure to meet the safety and comfort standards of a top-tier facility.

For this project, a high-quality audio solution has been deployed, designed to meet the acoustic demands of a stadium with capacity for thousands of spectators. The system is managed using MXD-88 audio matrix units, and 4-channel DA-240M4 and DA-500D4 power amplifiers have been used to deliver more than 3000 W RMS of power.

Message management with SMM-8SB

Message management is handled by the SMM-8SB, a sophisticated audio manager with scheduling capabilities that allows up to 100 automated programs for critical and service announcements. Its Ethernet output transmits these messages via multicast streaming to remote SIP devices from OPTIMUS (loudspeakers, amplifiers or audio interfaces), enabling audio to be distributed simultaneously through the local PA system and across different points connected to the data network.

Professional sound with two-way loudspeakers

The stadium’s sound quality relies on 14 units of 250 W RMS two-way loudspeakers. These professional-grade enclosures are designed to deliver high performance in large spaces, ensuring maximum speech intelligibility and excellent music reproduction. The installation is complemented by 29 WCM-20BT units, creating a balanced and powerful audio ecosystem.
