OPTIMUS has collaborated in the development of a complete integration of intercommunication and public address systems.
The company’s role is to ensure the connectivity and control of Iberdrola’s facilities across the peninsula.
Robust communication in distributed infrastructures
On this occasion, OPTIMUS has been responsible for providing intercommunication solutions and state-of-the-art public address systems to guarantee security and operability in Iberdrola’s most important infrastructures, from hydroelectric and wind power plants to dams and electrical substations.
Iberdrola manages a wide variety of facilities distributed across different geographical locations, each with its own requirements in terms of security and communication. These critical installations need robust and reliable communication systems that allow for constant connectivity between remote control centers and the facilities themselves. This type of real-time communication is essential to ensure operability and provide a rapid response to possible incidents detected by CCTV systems.
Implemented solution: COMPACT system
To address this challenge, Iberdrola has relied on OPTIMUS’ COMPACT System for its SIP connectivity capability and flexibility to adapt to different infrastructures. This system has been implemented in several key facilities, including:
- Hydroelectric plants: such as Valdecañas, Villarino, and Alto Támega
- Dams: including Daivoes, Cedillo, and La Almendra
- Wind farms: such as Capiechamartín and Panondres
SIP connectivity allows control centers, when detecting a problem through CCTV, to send messages quickly and efficiently to the affected facilities, ensuring an immediate response.
In smaller installations, where the full COMPACT system is not required, IP-connected amplifiers from the IF-7W series have been installed, adapted to the specific needs of each space, demonstrating the versatility of OPTIMUS’ solutions. Public address equipment, such as AC-930EN, SP-910DEN, or A-226EN loudspeakers, among others, ensures clear and efficient sound coverage throughout the environment.
Implementation and ongoing projects
Among the most recent deployments are the hydroelectric plants of Gouvaes (Portugal) and Gabriel y Galán (Cáceres). Currently, supplies are scheduled for key installations such as the hydroelectric plants of Aldeadávila (Salamanca) and La Muela I and II (Valencia), consolidating the expansion of this solution within Iberdrola’s network of critical infrastructures.
