A public transport provider in Germany has transformed its operations with a control room modernization.

Daily technical operations are coordinated from a state-of-the-art facility that opened in 2017. The building features a central control room and more than 100 specialised technical rooms, acting as the nerve centre of the transport network.

 

The challenge: modernization

The original control room setup had become outdated and could no longer meet the operational demands of 24/7 transit management. Operators faced multiple disparate systems, limited visualisation capabilities, and increasing complexity when coordinating internal and external communications. The organisation needed a scalable, unified, and easy-to-use solution to streamline workflows and improve situational awareness.

At the end of 2023, installation of the latest IT systems began with the goal of centralising video wall control through a single user interface. The team needed a solution that would allow multiple departments to access the same web dashboards, each with the ability to control and modify their own screens independently without affecting other teams.

 

Solution: an innovative approach to video wall control

 

The transport authority deployed VuWall’s TRx Platform. TRx is a centralised AV-over-IP management system designed for mission-critical environments; it enables seamless distribution and control of visual content across a video wall, multiple operator workstations, and other displays in local or remote facilities.
