UNICOL mounts deliver comprehensive AV upgrade for Liberty Global's offices.
UNICOL Engineering has supplied custom mounting systems for a major installation project at Liberty Global, the international telecommunications and media company.
The upgrade encompassed AV systems across Liberty Global's London and Leeds offices, featuring video conferencing capabilities integrated with Sharp screens, Logitech Rally range equipment, and Nureva speakers, all of which were installed using UNICOL mounts.
Liberty Global is one of the world's leading converged video, broadband and communications companies, with operations in six European countries under the consumer brands Virgin Media O2, VodafoneZiggo, and Telenet. The project, which ran from September 2024 to May 2025, was led by James Robinson, Director and Principal AV Consultant at AVenture Audio Visual, who served as a third-party specialist to oversee the design and implementation process.

UNICOL, whose involvement centred on providing mounting solutions that would significantly reduce Liberty Global's total cost of ownership and long-term maintenance expenses, deployed a comprehensive range of products including Accession Behind-Screen Service Mounts, AdaptaWall Pop-Out Mounts, Universal Wall Mounts, Sound Bar Mounts, and VS1000 Comfort Monitor Trolleys.
Instead of opting for standard TV brackets, we collaborated closely to source and design mounting solutions that allow a single engineer to service any issue, except for a broken screen. Previously, servicing would have required multiple engineers to remove working screens to access faulty equipment, explains Robinson.
One of the project's most notable achievements was addressing the unique challenge presented by the Leeds office's distinctive ‘doughnut’ shaped boardroom table. The hollow centre design prevented the installation of a traditional centre-of-table camera, requiring a creative engineering solution.
"UNICOL designed a custom floor mounting solution that delivered an excellent video experience while preserving the architect's original furniture plan", Robinson notes, highlighting UNICOL’s ability to adapt to complex spatial requirements.

The mounting solutions were designed with adaptability in mind, ensuring Liberty Global's investment remains viable as technology evolves. The video bar brackets were specifically engineered to avoid penetrating expensive acoustic panelling, providing both immediate installation benefits and long-term flexibility.
This means that should Liberty Global switch from one vendor to another in the future, UNICOL can provide a small replacement part, enabling the solution to be quickly adapted without replacing the entire system or repairing wall damage, explains Robinson.
Robinson praises UNICOL’s commitment to quality and customisation. "I have been using UNICOL products since 2020 and have found them to be strong, robust, and highly durable”, he says. “Their pricing is competitive, but what stands out most is UNICOL's commitment to custom requirements. They consistently work with clients to tweak existing solutions, fully redesign, or create new products from scratch to meet specific needs".
The project's successful completion demonstrates UNICOL's ability to deliver complex, custom-engineered solutions for enterprise-level deployments, all while maintaining cost efficiency and future adaptability.
"Both myself and the client are very pleased with the outcome of the project", Robinson concludes.
