Since autumn 2023, the Alster pool has shone with new splendor after several years of modernization.
Since its reopening, the EN-54-24 certified voice alarm system from TOA Electronics has ensured safety and comprehensive communication in the modern indoor pool.
The systems company Mediasystem from Reinbek, a long-standing customer and partner of TOA, was commissioned to install the voice alarm and public address systems. As the voice alarm control center, it specifically adapted the VX-3000 system to the challenging acoustics of the hall. Thanks to the various integrated audio buses in the system, a high level of speech intelligibility is achieved—particularly important in buildings prone to reverberation, such as swimming pools, due to their special sound propagation characteristics.
The systems company Mediasystem GmbH provides comprehensive system solutions in the fields of voice alarm, emergency and threat response systems, as well as services related to public address, video, and conferencing. It was responsible for the planning, installation, integration, and programming of the system. In addition to the acoustic conditions, a particular challenge in this project was working within the constraints of the building’s protected status.
An external sound system provides suitable background and event audio and is directly connected to the voice alarm system. In the event of a hazardous situation, pool visitors can be immediately alerted via all speakers in all areas of the hall. To ensure the system is always operational, an emergency power supply was also connected.
