OPTIMUS expands its range of solutions for accessible bathrooms and changing rooms with new centralized management options.

The Spanish manufacturer has updated its range of assistance call and signaling products for accessible restrooms, introducing the new CC-85 module, which allows up to eight bathrooms to be monitored from a single control point.

Accessible bathrooms are designed to ensure the independence and safety of people with disabilities. However, their design benefits everyone, as anyone may need to use these facilities at some point in their lives. An assistance call system ensures that, in the event of an accident inside a public restroom, users can request help and receive a prompt response.

The addition of the CC-85 module expands the available assistance call and signaling options for accessible bathrooms and changing rooms in an update aligned with the requirements of the Spanish Technical Building Code (CTE DB SUA-3) and the international ISO 21542 standard.

A solution that scales from a single bathroom to hundreds of call points

OPTIMUS solutions are built around two main kits. The KB-05 is designed for commercial, hospitality, and office projects seeking straightforward regulatory compliance with a discreet architectural integration and neutral aesthetics. The KB-10F, meanwhile, is an advanced solution for complex healthcare environments such as hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, and day care centers. Its native integration with the OPTIMUS SMC system enables unified control, from a standalone kit for a single accessible bathroom to the centralized management of hundreds of assistance call points.

Both kits share the two key principles that define the OPTIMUS approach to accessibility: dual visual and audible signaling to ensure alerts reach response personnel regardless of ambient noise or sensory impairments, and mandatory on-site assistance, preventing remote cancellation of the alarm and ensuring that a staff member physically attends the bathroom to verify the user's condition.

The new CC-85: centralized management for medium-sized facilities

The CC-85 is a signaling module that enables up to eight accessible bathrooms equipped with the KB-05 kit to be managed from a single control point. It addresses a segment that previously lacked an optimal solution: medium-sized facilities such as hotels, gyms, offices, and corporate buildings that require centralized management without the complexity of a full SMC system.optimus Accesibilidad 1 HIThe CC-85 features eight LED indicators that clearly identify the source of each call, along with a MUTE button that silences the audible alarm at the control point while staff respond to the emergency. In line with the OPTIMUS philosophy, the alarm can only be fully reset from inside the bathroom, ensuring that assistance is always provided in person.

From a single bathroom to building-wide infrastructure

The update also reflects the evolution of the range toward integration with the building's IT infrastructure. OPTIMUS kits support integration through the PA2S module, which transmits assistance calls over the data network and allows them to be managed directly from a standard SIP telephone at the control center, eliminating the need for a dedicated control unit. This IP/SIP convergence is particularly relevant for projects where building security is managed through the corporate network.

With this expansion, OPTIMUS provides installers, consultants, and engineering firms with a comprehensive portfolio that meets current regulatory requirements while addressing the needs of a wide variety of projects, from a single accessible restroom in a restaurant to the centralized management of hundreds of assistance call points across healthcare or educational facilities.

At OPTIMUS, we see accessibility as a way of designing spaces that work for everyone, rather than simply complying with regulations. This expansion of our range, and particularly the new CC-85, reflects that philosophy by providing system integrators and consultants with a technically robust solution for every type of project, without compromising the principles that ensure an assistance call system performs when it is truly needed, concludes Antonio Ruiz, Sales Director of OPTIMUS Spain.
