Sol Rashidi has argued at ISE 2026 for AI adoption grounded in governance and cybersecurity.
ISE 2026 hosted a keynote focused on how organisations can move beyond the initial excitement around artificial intelligence towards realistic, scalable adoption, supported by robust governance models, risk management and integrated cybersecurity.
The session was delivered by Sol Rashidi, one of the most recognised figures in AI and data strategy within large corporations, with experience at companies such as Sony Music, Merck, Estée Lauder and Amazon.
Under the title The AI Reality Check: What It Takes to Scale and the Future of Leadership, the talk was positioned as a practical guide for technology, operations and leadership decision-makers looking to deploy AI at enterprise scale without falling into impulsive decisions or disconnected projects. In a context where AI is being rapidly integrated into AV, broadcast and corporate environments, Rashidi argued that the challenge is not “adopting AI”, but leading its implementation with clear criteria, separating expectations from operational realities.
The keynote aligned with ISE 2026’s theme, Push Beyond, which encourages the AV integration and systems sector to drive innovation while keeping responsibility, security and the sustainability of technological change in mind. In this context, Rashidi emphasised the importance of establishing governance from the outset, defining evaluation criteria and ensuring project traceability, especially when AI models and tools directly impact data management, process automation and decision-making.
During the session, practical approaches were discussed for evaluating AI initiatives, building effective governance structures and ensuring the security of both data and the workforce—topics that are becoming increasingly important in projects where AV, IT, cloud, analytics and automation converge. For integrators and systems leaders, the message was clear: AI scalability depends as much on technology as it does on the control architecture, risk management and cybersecurity integrated by design.
Rashidi is also known for her work as a communicator and thought leader in the field, with contributions including her book Your AI Survival Guide, her patented Human Amplification Index and the concept of Intellectual Atrophy, which focuses on preserving critical thinking in increasingly automated workplaces.
With a track record that includes her involvement in the development and launch of IBM Watson in 2011 and more than 200 AI deployments, Rashidi has been recognised in multiple technology and data industry rankings. Her appearance at ISE 2026 reinforced an idea increasingly shared across the systems integration ecosystem: the future of AI is not only about capabilities, but about governance, security and leadership to turn it into a truly operational tool.
