OPTIMUS expands its range of digital amplifiers with the new DA-500M4.

This is a 4×500 W RMS model in 100 V line (or 4×320 W RMS at 8 Ω) that maintains the compact 1U format for a 19" rack, but with a significant leap in power and features.

Evolution of the DA-240M4 Series

The DA-500M4 emerges as the continuation of the well-known DA-240M4 series, present in numerous public address and distributed sound installations. The philosophy remains the same: compact equipment, easy to install and operate, with everything needed to work in demanding professional environments.

The main novelty is the doubling of power, responding to the demand of integrators who need to cover larger-scale projects without complicating configuration or occupying more rack space.

Technical design and features

The new model incorporates four independent Class D stages, each with:

• Balanced input
• Individual volume control
• Selectable high-pass filter (HPF)

This arrangement allows separate management of speaker zones or circuits, adjusting levels and low-frequency filtering without the need for additional processors.

The design is completed with:

• Universal 110–230 V AC power supply, adaptable to different electrical environments
• Dual internal fan system ensuring thermal stability during continuous operation
• Status LED indicators, useful for quick diagnostics and on-rack verification

Real power measured under operating conditions

OPTIMUS measures power under real working conditions: a continuous 1 kHz signal for more than one hour, providing reliable RMS values that are useful for sizing speaker lines. The DA-500M4 guarantees stable operation even in demanding environments, thanks to its protection systems against:
