Bose Professional announces the availability of the EdgeMax LP ceiling speakers.
The company launches the new models EdgeMax EM90-LP and EM180-LP from the EdgeMax line, the family of directional ceiling-mounted speakers that has redefined this product category.
The LP models bring the powerful EdgeMax sound and asymmetrical coverage to smaller rooms and more challenging spaces, working alongside the original EdgeMax speakers to deliver consistent high-quality performance in projects with variable specifications and installation conditions.
The EdgeMax LP models have been designed for smaller rooms with lower ceilings and complex installation requirements. The new EdgeMax LP speakers feature a rear housing depth of 10.2 cm (4 inches), which is 60% smaller than that of the original models, making EdgeMax LP ideal for rooms with space limitations between the false ceiling and the roof, as well as for narrower spaces. The EdgeMax LP also offers a vertical coverage angle of 80°, perfect for conference rooms and workspaces with low ceilings.
At its initial launch in 2017, EdgeMax redefined the ceiling speaker category by achieving what seemed impossible. EdgeMax combines the power, technology, and strength of a large, bulky surface-mounted speaker into a discreet and elegant ceiling-mounted design. These new LP models, with their shallow rear housing and 80° vertical coverage, provide installers and designers the freedom and flexibility to choose the models that best fit their specific needs, while the entire project benefits from the renowned consistent power that distinguishes the EdgeMax line, said Shawn Watts, Director of Products at Bose Professional.
Large, busy rooms that require higher sound pressure levels (SPL), such as gyms, restaurants, and bars, can still benefit from the powerful, deeper enclosures of the original EdgeMax speakers. The original EdgeMax models feature a rear housing depth of 22.9 cm (9 inches) and a vertical coverage angle of 75°, designed to deliver powerful full-range sound, more bass energy, and higher SPL capability in larger spaces with high ceilings.

All EdgeMax models are equipped with dual transducers and the patented PhaseGuide technology to project powerful, focused sound asymmetrically throughout a room, offering outstanding performance, directionality, and voice intelligibility while allowing for discreet placement without being obtrusive. EdgeMax speakers are designed for specific horizontal coverage: 90° for corner placement or a broader 180° coverage ideal for near fields and extended coverage.
We are committed to working alongside our partners to create better solutions for the real world. EdgeMax changed the game for ceiling speakers, and by working with our customers, we found that there were spaces where they wanted to use EdgeMax, but it was physically impossible to do so. Therefore, we listened to them and went to work. Our new LP models now bring that concentrated powerful EdgeMax performance to a wider variety of installations, commented John Maier, CEO of Bose Professional.
The EdgeMax EM90-LP and EM180-LP models are available worldwide through Bose Professional's authorized dealer network.
