Crestron powers the future of the Spotify Camp Nou as the official smart hospitality systems partner of Espai Barça.

The company announced that it has been named Official Smart Hospitality Systems Partner of Espai Barça, the landmark project redefining Spotify Camp Nou and its surroundings as a next-generation destination active 365 days a year.

Espai Barça is FC Barcelona’s major initiative to modernize and expand its stadium and campus, reinventing one of the world’s most iconic sports venues as a permanent destination for sports, business, hospitality, and community engagement. As part of this multi-year collaboration, Crestron has already begun — and will continue — deploying the technological infrastructure of Spotify Camp Nou, delivering an integrated ecosystem of content, collaboration, and control solutions.

Espai Barça is about building what a modern venue should be. Beyond matchdays each season, this new space is designed to remain active and vibrant 365 days a year. Crestron powers the infrastructure behind it, enabling every space to adapt instantly, operate seamlessly, and deliver consistent experiences at scale, said Brad Hintze, EVP, Global Customer Success & Marketing at Crestron.

A reinvented venue

Built for another era, Spotify Camp Nou is being redefined as a flexible and connected environment designed to operate every day of the year — not just on matchdays. From hospitality suites, locker rooms, and VIP areas to press rooms, meeting spaces, and operational centers, Crestron technology is embedded throughout the venue.

At the core of the project:

  • A single integrated platform for content, collaboration, and control
  • Instant transformation of spaces between events, meetings, and matchday experiences
  • Consistent user experiences across hundreds of environments

The result: a stadium that operates less like a traditional venue and more like a high-performance digital ecosystem, where every space becomes a business opportunity and a new reason for the city of Barcelona to come together.

The addition of Crestron as Official Smart Hospitality Systems Partner represents another important step in our ambition to make Espai Barça a global benchmark for innovation, connectivity, and premium hospitality. Thanks to this partnership, Spotify Camp Nou will become a smarter, more flexible, and multifunctional venue capable of delivering seamless, world-class experiences for fans, members, and visitors every day of the year, said Marc Bruix, Global Partnerships Director at FC Barcelona.

Designed for continuous performance

With capacity for more than 100,000 fans and a wide range of hospitality spaces, media areas, and operational zones, Spotify Camp Nou represents one of the most complex environments within this new generation of always-on venues. In a stadium where the energy and excitement of live events create unforgettable moments, technology plays a critical role in delivering seamless and personalized experiences that bring the venue to life.

Crestron’s role goes beyond simply connecting systems — it is about standardizing how every space operates. From VIP suites to control rooms, environments can be instantly reconfigured, aligning content, controls, and user experiences across the venue.

This consistency enables staff to move frictionlessly between spaces, reduce operational complexity, and ensure that every interaction — whether during a match or a corporate event — maintains the same level of quality.

A model for modern infrastructure

Although rooted in sports, the Espai Barça project represents a broader shift in how physical spaces are designed and managed. Rather than relying on fragmented systems, the venue is built on a unified digital platform that enables flexibility, scalability, and long-term adaptability.

By standardizing infrastructure across a large and complex environment, the project becomes an example that extends far beyond stadiums. Spotify Camp Nou demonstrates how organizations can simplify operations at scale, deliver consistent and high-quality user experiences, and transform physical assets into dynamic, multifunctional environments. The same approach can be applied to campuses, hospitality portfolios, corporate environments, and public infrastructure — anywhere consistent experiences are required across complex, multi-use spaces.

Projects like Espai Barça represent the next chapter for large venues and where the industry is heading. Organizations are no longer building spaces for a single purpose, but for continuous use capable of hosting countless experiences. Our role is to provide the infrastructure that makes these environments adaptable, scalable, and easy to manage, regardless of their size or complexity, added Brad Hintze.
