The University of Granada incorporates professional audio technology from Sennheiser and Xilica in a new teaching space.

The Faculty of Business Sciences at the University of Granada has equipped its new teaching space, the “Hyperclassroom,” with Sennheiser and Xilica solutions—an environment designed to support new university learning methodologies.

The core of the system is built around Dante connectivity, enabling highly reliable digital audio transmission while ensuring the scalability needed for future expansions or reconfiguration of the space.

The installed equipment includes:

• Two Sennheiser TCC M ceiling microphones, providing full-room coverage through automatic beamforming technology.
• A Xilica FR1D audio processor, responsible for advanced DSP management and room control.
• Two Xilica Sonia Amp Dante amplifiers.
• Six Sonia loudspeakers from the same manufacturer, optimized for uniform sound reproduction and high intelligibility.
• A Xilica GIO-USB converter, enabling direct integration with videoconferencing platforms and computer systems.

One of the project’s “differentiating elements” is the implementation of Sennheiser’s Voicelift functionality, integrated into the TCC M microphones. This technology provides natural voice reinforcement for the lecturer within the classroom, improving intelligibility without creating the sensation of artificial amplification.

Thanks to intelligent processing and precise coverage control, a consistent listening experience is achieved throughout the entire space, encouraging participation, improving attention, and reducing vocal fatigue for lecturers.

Full system control—including audio, source management, and PTZ camera operation—is handled through an 8” Xilica X-TOUCH touch panel.

This solution centralizes operation within an intuitive interface, allowing users to manage the room easily without requiring advanced technical knowledge.

The new Hyperclassroom at the Faculty of Business Sciences represents a paradigm shift in university education, designed for active methodologies, collaborative learning, and hybrid on-site/online integration.

The implementation of professional solutions from Sennheiser and Xilica not only guarantees outstanding sound quality but also positions the University of Granada at the forefront of educational innovation.
