The challenge

With the showroom needing to evolve continuously, the technological requirements were raised to meet the growing demand for showcasing the most recent and advanced innovations in smart living. ASMI’s integrators sought to seamlessly integrate home automation and AV distribution technology into a traditional Parisian environment, maintaining both functionality and elegance. Each element was carefully designed to ensure a clean, ergonomic layout that would allow users to interact safely with the systems.

The solution

ASMI had a clear vision of the technology they wanted to incorporate into their showroom and apartment. They chose the Crestron Home® OS as the backbone to handle the evolving demands of a space dedicated to showcasing the best of technology.

Crestron Home offers the perfect balance of reliability, ease of use, and scalability, ensuring a seamless experience for both showroom visitors and apartment guests.

“Creating this showroom was complex, as we wanted to ensure it looked like an apartment. Crestron Home was the only solution we knew could do it and meet all needs”, adds Dorian Vidal.

The technology

Crestron, along with some third-party integrations, was selected for its level of finish and integration, as well as the freedom of control and customization it offers. Crestron Home OS is the main control of the apartment thanks to its intuitive interface and its simple and practical evolution for maintenance and regular updates. With Crestron Home, each showroom visit can be customized for the visitor through spontaneous programming. Some highlighted integrations include Airzone for HVAC communication, DoorBird for the intercom, and Samsung displays.

This showroom is a real apartment where architecture and décor have been prioritized, and the technology has been carefully selected. Crestron DM NVX® AV-over-IP and DM NAX® Audio-over-IP were integrated to demonstrate how easy it is to distribute audio and video. Guests and visitors can control the showroom’s displays and enjoy the same music or content. Some components, such as TVs, are hidden behind mirrors or in lifts, as is often requested in Parisian projects.

Other features are designed so visitors can enjoy a relaxing stay: scenes like “arrival” and “departure” were configured so guests can easily turn lights, audio, and HVAC on or off. There is also a music button in each room and bathroom to add an extra layer of comfort. The living room drapes remain hidden and when lowered can completely change the ambiance and style of the room. Events like the 2024 Olympics or Fashion Week draw both visitors and influencers or artists looking to create content in a comfortable and luxurious environment.
