Hikvision Iberia has launched its new Corporate Social Responsibility programme: Technology with Purpose.

This initiative aims to channel the company's technological innovation into projects that directly benefit society and the environment. Recent examples of this approach include the documentary produced in Catarroja, where technology was used to anticipate risks and protect local residents following the DANA storm in 2024, and in the Pyrenees, where Hikvision's systems enable weather monitoring under extreme conditions, contributing to the safety of local communities and scientific research in high-mountain areas.

Through this department, Hikvision aims to integrate technology into initiatives with social and environmental value, demonstrating that innovation can go beyond conventional security by delivering solutions that create a tangible impact on people's lives and the natural environment.

Objectives of the new CSR department

With Technology with Purpose, Hikvision aims to ensure that innovation not only transforms the way people work but also generates a positive impact on society. The department's primary objective is to integrate sustainability projects with the company's technological activities, ensuring that every development or deployed solution takes its social and environmental impact into account.

In addition, the department's mission is to promote initiatives that directly benefit the communities where the company operates, from urban environments to rural areas, putting technology at the service of prevention, safety and improving people's quality of life.

Finally, the department seeks to encourage the active participation of the organisation at an individual level by offering corporate volunteering programmes and training in social responsibility, giving every employee the opportunity to become involved in real projects that connect technological innovation with solidarity and social commitment. This approach ensures that every Hikvision initiative combines technological excellence with tangible human value.

Catarroja: a living example of technology's social impact

As part of Hikvision's newly established CSR department, Technology with Purpose, the Catarroja project stands as a flagship example of how technological innovation can directly serve society.

Following the devastating DANA storm, the town required a system capable of anticipating risks and protecting its residents. Hikvision responded by designing a comprehensive ecosystem combining water level monitoring, surveillance cameras in critical areas, automatic barriers and public address systems, all managed from a centralised control centre.

This project not only demonstrates the company's technological capabilities, but also places people at its core, ensuring that information flows in real time to protect lives and minimise risks. As such, Catarroja has become a tangible example of the new department's objectives: applying technology to generate a positive social impact by effectively integrating innovation, safety and community.

Through this department, we aim to coordinate our efforts, bring together our expertise and ensure that every initiative we undertake has a clear purpose: to protect, anticipate and support. We want each and every one of you to feel part of this, because this is not just the responsibility of one team—it is a commitment shared by all of us, explains Neo, President of Hikvision Iberia.

The creation of Technology with Purpose has a clear objective: to ensure that CSR efforts are not limited to abstract commitments, but are translated into real projects that protect people, communities and natural environments. With this new approach, Hikvision encourages employee participation by integrating their technical expertise and personal commitment into every initiative, turning innovation into a tool with tangible social value.
