AVIXA and Caretta Research have announced a partnership to develop an analysis and forecasting report for the AV market.

The publication, titled Pro AV Industry Outlook (PAVIO), will provide a five-year outlook on the industry's evolution based on market data and technology trends.

The new report will replace the current Industry Outlook and Trends Analysis (IOTA), will be published twice a year, and will be available to AVIXA Gold member companies, which will also have access to an online data dashboard.

According to the organisations behind the initiative, the study will have a global scope and will analyse the development of different technology segments and application markets, with the aim of providing valuable insights for strategic planning, identifying growth opportunities and monitoring industry trends. The report will also address issues related to mergers and acquisitions activity and investment within the professional audiovisual sector.

Dan Goldstein, AVIXA’s Chief Product Officer, explained that the initiative aims to expand the industry's analytical capabilities through a broader view of the entire audiovisual value chain, including hardware manufacturers, software developers, service providers and end users across different vertical markets.

For its part, Caretta Research will contribute its expertise in technology market research across the audiovisual, broadcast, media and information technology sectors. The company regularly works with manufacturers, technology providers and procurement professionals to analyse investment trends and technology adoption.

Robert Ambrose, Co-founder and CEO of Caretta Research, said that the new approach is intended to bring a stronger demand-side perspective by analysing the needs of end users and different industry sectors to complement traditional market data.

The first preliminary results of the Pro AV Industry Outlook will be presented at ISE 2027 in Barcelona, while the full report is scheduled for release at InfoComm 2027 in
Orlando.

As a preview of the initiative, analysts from AVIXA and Caretta Research are participating in InfoComm 2026, where they are presenting the session Pro AV Outlook 2026: Data & Dialogue.

During the session, they will examine some of the key trends transforming the professional audiovisual market, including the advancement of AI-driven automation, the growing importance of software and cloud services, and their impact on the industry's business models.
