Starting with InfoComm 2027, Lightapalooza will be integrated into the event’s program.

AVIXA, the Audiovisual and Integrated Experience Association, has announced the acquisition of Lightapalooza, the lighting-focused trade show originally created by HTSA (Home Technology Specialists of America). As a result, the next edition of Lightapalooza will be incorporated into the InfoComm program starting in 2027, with the event taking place in Orlando, Florida.

Lightapalooza is a trade show and conference focused on residential lighting, energy control, and natural light optimization. Launched by HTSA in 2022 for an audience of custom electronic integration professionals, lighting manufacturers and designers, specifiers, buying groups, architects, and designers, the event quickly became a hub for connecting, exchanging ideas, and building new partnerships.

In four years, it has grown from 225 attendees at its first edition to more than 1,600 in 2026, establishing itself as a catalyst for a broader shift: lighting has become the fastest-growing category within custom residential integration, with Lightapalooza at the center of this evolution.

HTSA identified the need for its community to come together to explore business growth opportunities and created this space for the channel to do so through product demonstrations, training, and professional networking. As an AV industry association, one of AVIXA’s roles is to facilitate market development. We do this in many ways, especially through trade shows around the world, the primary forum for industry connection, said David Labuskes, CTS, CAE, RCDD, CEO of AVIXA.

Lighting solutions and environmental elements are a relevant part of the audiovisual integration industry. According to AVIXA data, in 2025 these solutions accounted for 6.8% of industry revenue, equivalent to 952 million US dollars (IOTA 2025: Industry Outlook and Trends Analysis 2025 by AVIXA).

"AVIXA is proud to host experiential events that connect solution providers and buyers, while delivering educational excellence to AV professionals", said Jenn Heinold, Senior Vice President of Expositions, Americas, at AVIXA. "Bringing Lightapalooza into the AVIXA portfolio and hosting it alongside InfoComm 2027 is a significant step toward creating a stronger platform where the lighting community can connect, learn, and grow".

The acquisition brings Lightapalooza into an organization structured to reinvest in the communities it serves. As a nonprofit association, surplus generated by AVIXA events is reinvested into education, certification, research, and professional development for the industries it represents, further driving the growth of Lightapalooza and the residential lighting community, said Tom Doherty, founder of Lightapalooza and Director of New Technology Initiatives at HTSA.
