The most prominent construction fair in Spain has set the dates for its 24th edition, which will take place from May 20 to 22, 2025.
Construmat 2025 aims to provide maximum value to professionals through business opportunities, networking, and knowledge. This edition will expand coverage on the importance of artificial intelligence (AI) and other technologies in construction to enhance the sector’s efficiency and profitability, while also announcing the Sustainable Building Congress program and new spaces and activities focused on innovation.
Organized by Fira de Barcelona, Construmat will once again bring together major companies in the sector and professionals from throughout the value chain to energize the business and address the major challenges of construction. This year, the fair will place a greater emphasis on sustainability, technological innovation, and internationalization, with an increase in live demonstrations where attendees can see firsthand how technology can be effectively applied to sustainable projects.
This year, we are taking a further step to establish the fair as a leading event in the construction sector. As part of this strategy, the congress will grow in content and international scope, focusing on sustainable architecture and construction with global speakers and projects, highlighted Xavier Vilajoana, President of Construmat.
In this regard, the Sustainable Building Congress will be the epicenter for discussions on the most innovative global sustainable construction themes and projects. It will feature 100 speakers, including three international keynotes, over 60 sessions and panel discussions, and will be led by Jorge Arditti, President of the Mexican Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), a global leader in sustainable construction.
Among the key themes to be addressed will be energy-balanced building construction, healthy construction, social housing, artificial intelligence in architecture, energy retrofitting of buildings, and urban planning and climate adaptation, highlighting how these technologies can transform the sector towards greater sustainability.
Construmat Experience
A major new feature of this edition will be the Construmat Experience, a space designed to foster interaction between speakers and the audience in a participatory format that will include innovative proposals from companies, associations, and sector entities. The first day will be aimed at engineers, the second at installers, and the third at architects, offering a specific focus for each professional profile.
Additionally, the fair will continue to feature high-interest areas such as the startups area and investment forum; the Construmat Awards, curated by the Mies van der Rohe Foundation, which will recognize the most sustainable architectural works; and the training and certification area for sector professionals.
In its 2024 edition, Construmat gathered 314 exhibitors and over 600 brands, and recorded more than 21,000 professional visits. The next edition will be held from May 20 to 22, 2025, at the Gran Via venue of Fira de Barcelona.
