Stage Audio Works Namibia completes a comprehensive AV upgrade for the boardrooms of a local beverages company.

The initiative was carried out in two boardrooms of a historic Namibian beverages company as part of the modernization of its workspaces. The intervention also strengthens a collaboration between the two companies that has spanned several years.

The project, led by SAW Namibia in close coordination with architects Chamberlain & Associates, focused on upgrading two boardrooms, which were equipped with new Crestron-based AV systems, enhanced customizable lighting control, wireless presentation capabilities, and professional Samsung Ultra HD displays.

This local beverages company has been a valued client for many years. We originally installed the first-generation AV equipment in one of the boardrooms, and when the client decided to modernize the space with new joinery, displays, and lighting control, they turned to us again for this second phase, explains Joppie Maritz, Managing Director at SAW Namibia.

In one of the boardrooms, SAW Namibia expanded the existing Crestron Flex Microsoft Teams Rooms system by adding a lighting control interface and wireless presentation through a Crestron AirMedia system. The space now features 85-inch displays, selected for their brightness and suitability for professional environments, along with full AV control integration.

Audio capture is handled by a Sennheiser TCC2 ceiling microphone, combined with Audac loudspeakers and an Aver camera, enabling more dynamic video conferencing.

Meanwhile, a second boardroom received a new Crestron Flex video bar system, providing an all-in-one solution to meet the needs of this smaller meeting space. A Crestron control system and occupancy sensors automate power and lighting, ensuring the system powers down when the room is not in use, helping reduce energy consumption and extend the lifespan of the technology.

The choice of professional-grade displays allows for extended use, increased display brightness, and integration with the Crestron control system, while the upgraded DALI lighting with Cameo keypads enables easy environmental control and customization. Users can tailor brightness and scenes to match their meeting needs, and the Crestron system ensures that all devices and modes can be easily managed. The addition of wireless presentation capabilities also allows anyone in the room to share their screen, and multiple people can even present at the same time, explains Maritz.

The new automation features not only streamline the operation of the spaces but also contribute to sustainability by reducing energy consumption.

The renovated rooms are now smarter, more efficient, and better suited for hybrid collaboration, providing a more balanced meeting experience for both in-person and remote attendees.

SAW Namibia sees this project as part of its ongoing commitment to helping organizations communicate more effectively through technology.

Helping clients, both long-standing and new, maintain stable and effective meeting spaces remains one of our top priorities. The combination of upgraded displays, lighting, and control systems provides this client with a future-proof solution, bringing their boardrooms in line with the latest collaboration technologies, says Maritz.
