The new Calachica space has become one of the most notable technical integration projects of the season.

A unique concept that combines Mediterranean–Atlantic gastronomy, an infinity pool facing the ocean, and a music area designed for events, DJs, and live performances.

To meet these needs, integrator Alejandro Martínez developed an automated lighting and video infrastructure based on Visual Productions, designed to operate autonomously, reliably, and in visual harmony with the venue’s aesthetic.

An organic and elegant scenic design

The project starts from a clear premise: to provide the space with a retro-warm lighting style, avoiding excessive colour and seeking an organic atmosphere that complements the natural architecture and the venue’s style.

Automation enables smooth transitions, ambient scenes, and dynamic configurations depending on the time of day, while also allowing the user to operate the show without technical knowledge.

CueCore3: the brain of the system

Visual Productions’ CueCore3 acts as the main engine to manage the entire lighting installation and synchronisation with the video system. Among its key functions in Calachica are:

• Control of all luminaires via DMX RDM and Art-Net.
• Full management of scenes and effects, whether automated or live.
• Integration with the video jockey system via network protocols.
• Time-based and startup automation. At specific hours of the day, CueCore3 triggers lighting and video scenes adapted to the environment. In case of a system reboot due to loss of network or power, Visual Productions will always launch the programmed scenes, preventing the stage from remaining in darkness.
• Stable connectivity designed for the end user. Thanks to advanced programming, a clear and reliable system was implemented to avoid common confusion in venues without permanent technical staff.
• Programming with MA3 + Resolume + sACN. For recording dynamic scenes and effects, Alejandro used a grandMA3 Command Wing, sending the show to CueCore3, which stores and plays all scenes autonomously. This feature allows us to use the full potential of the tool we feel most comfortable with and merge it with the reliability and simplicity of a solid-state system.

Intuitive control: tablets, redundant PC and dedicated network

 The system was designed to offer versatility and complete simplicity:

• Main control from tablets with a customised interface.
• Redundant PC connected via RJ45 to ensure operational continuity.
• Priority management so the end user can configure the environment without affecting the main programming.

B-Station2: physical control in the booth

A B-Station2 was installed in the DJ booth, configured to:

• Activate live effects and strobes.
• Trigger preconfigured lighting and video scenes.
• Maintain intuitive touch control, with RGB backlit buttons showing real-time system status and available options.

The button panel allows any DJ to interact with the lighting without previous training.

Video integration with Resolume

The venue’s video system is based on Resolume, integrated directly with CueCore3 via OSC protocol:

• To simplify control, Resolume thumbnails were included on the touch interface.
• Comfortable, simple and coordinated operation between lighting and video was achieved.
• The combination of both platforms enables fluid, dynamic and fully automated shows when needed.

A solid project for an installation designed to operate autonomously

Calachica is a living space: restaurant, pool, bar, nightclub and chill area. The installation needed to respond to all these uses without requiring constant technical staff.

The Visual Productions–based solution has enabled:

• Total automation of schedules and scenes.
• Intuitive control by venue staff.
• Stability even with different DJs and configurations.
• Full integration between lighting and video.
• A visual experience consistent with the identity of the space.
