Innovation in communication systems for a key infrastructure
In the renovation of the underground lobby at Madrid-Chamartín-Clara Campoamor Station, OPTIMUS technology has played a key role in enhancing communication and safety.
The lobby, mistakenly called the "ghost lobby," which was closed for nearly 40 years and recently reopened as part of an ambitious modernization plan, has been equipped with advanced public address and voice alarm systems, ensuring clear and reliable communication in every corner of the facility.
OPTIMUS technology for Madrid-Chamartín
The public address and voice alarm system at Chamartín Station has been implemented with the OPTIMUS COMPACT series, certified according to EN 54 standards. This high-security system includes digital audio matrices, equipped with enough input and output cards to cover all the speakers in the station's lobbies, platforms, and corridors. Designed with complete redundancy and monitoring, it also includes backup amplification and battery management to ensure operation even in the event of a power failure.
The integration of this public address system with the Passenger Information System (SIV) allows messages and announcements to be sent effectively to the right place, at the right time, and at the optimal volume. Additionally, the COMPACT system integrates with the fire prevention system of Grupo Aguilera, offering a solution that maximizes safety at all times.
Intercoms for information points and emergency requests have also been provided, specifically the EP-44SIPH model, a sophisticated and complete product that includes a pre-recorded call-in-progress message, Braille, accessibility pictograms, and an induction loop. Induction loop systems have also been installed at the platforms and customer service counters, facilitating communication between staff and people with hearing disabilities.
