The majestic Barceló Playa Blanca hotel resort in Lanzarote has implemented OPTIMUS technology for its extensive PA, intercom, and voice alarm system.
Officially inaugurated by Grupo HD and Barceló Hotel Group, this 4-star resort stands as the largest on the island, covering 100,000 square meters in the vibrant tourist area of Playa Blanca.
Barceló Playa Blanca stands out not only for its size, with 720 rooms and 1,400 beds, but also for its innovative and sustainable design, inspired by the natural surroundings of Lanzarote. The complex has incorporated geothermal technologies to reduce its environmental footprint, and its design blends with the natural environment, using native vegetation and elements inspired by the work of Lanzarote artist César Manrique.
OPTIMUS technology for Barceló Playa Blanca
At OPTIMUS, we have supplied a series of advanced PA, voice alarm, and intercom systems for the hotel complex, ensuring clear and efficient communication. Two control computers have been installed along with 8 COMPACT systems, mounted in OPTIMUS racks strategically distributed across the complex buildings, connected via data network. Together, they provide a total power of 20,000 W RMS and feature over 400 speakers. Of these, around 150 are CA-950EN and CA-950WEN models certified under EN54-24 standards, with an IP65 protection rating.
In the theater/convention hall, with a capacity of up to 800 people, several CA-950EN and BS-208T two-way acoustic boxes with 100 W RMS of exceptional audio quality have been installed. In the garden and pool area, to integrate the PA system with the environment, mushroom-shaped green speakers (AEM-15T), rock-type speakers (AER-60T), and several CA-950EN and CA-950WEN have been used. In terms of accessibility, 37 assisted bathrooms have been equipped with KB-10F kits, centralized through CC-119F and CC-40F.
Some areas required specific solutions, such as the wellness center, which includes a spa and gym, where a distributed dSOUND audio system with K804 control panels, K844 and K842 local amplifiers, K810A zone console, and A-264IP ceiling speakers with an IP55 protection rating, among others, have been installed.

Finally, we highlight the parking area, where for easier use, a rack cabinet with a 12-zone NOVA system, NOVA-12RM desk, A-256BTM ceiling speakers, and PJ-20 acoustic projectors finished with high-impact polystyrene has been implemented to ensure durability.
