Palmer Digital Group introduces a standalone digital order confirmation board for drive-thru lanes.

The company has announced the immediate availability of its new PDG 22OCBSM Order Confirmation Enclosure, an innovative standalone solution that brings digital order confirmation capabilities to quick-service restaurant (QSR) drive-thru lanes.

Designed and manufactured entirely at PDG's headquarters in Aurora, Illinois, the new system integrates an LG 22XE1J-B high-bright outdoor display, along with a speaker, microphone and camera, into a compact standalone enclosure. The system enables customers to view their orders in real time without requiring a complete replacement of the existing digital menu board, providing QSR operators with an affordable way to modernize their current drive-thru lanes.

Unlike traditional speaker posts that rely solely on audio communication, the PDG 22OCBSM features an integrated visual order confirmation display positioned directly at the ordering point, eliminating the need for customers to look elsewhere to verify their orders. In addition, the system gives restaurants the opportunity to promote limited-time offers, seasonal menu items and other messaging while customers are placing their orders.

Many restaurants want to begin adding digital technology to their drive-thru experience without investing in an entirely new digital menu board system. Our new Order Confirmation Enclosure provides exactly that opportunity. Customers receive immediate visual confirmation of their order right where they place it, while restaurant owners gain a flexible platform for promotions and future digital enhancements, said Chuck Lewis, President of Palmer Digital Group.

The new system supports the LG 22XE1J-B outdoor display, one of the few 22-inch high-bright commercial displays available for outdoor applications. According to Lewis, this display size offers the ideal balance between visibility and enclosure footprint, ensuring that order details remain clear and easy to read without requiring an oversized structure.

Like all PDG products, the 22OCBSM has been engineered and manufactured entirely in-house using premium materials and construction techniques. The enclosure is fabricated from 14-gauge galvanized steel, finished with a protective primer and a durable powder-coated exterior available in customer-selected colors for seamless integration with existing restaurant branding.

Installation follows the practical approach that has become a hallmark of PDG's drive-thru solutions. The standalone enclosure is mounted on its own foundation adjacent to the primary menu board, while power and content are easily extended from the existing digital menu board through conduit connections. This design minimizes trenching requirements and allows the new order confirmation display to share the same content infrastructure as the primary outdoor digital menu board. Customers may choose installation by PDG's in-house field services team or qualified third-party installers.

The new Order Confirmation Enclosure is another example of how we continue to expand our portfolio of outdoor digital menu board solutions to address real customer needs. Whether a restaurant is taking its first step toward digital ordering or expanding an existing deployment, we've developed a solution that is durable, flexible and easy to integrate into virtually any drive-thru environment, Lewis added.
