InfoComm 2026 put the spotlight on the future of work with intelligent, connected and AI-driven spaces.

The workplace is evolving at a rapid pace, and InfoComm 2026 served as a showcase where this transformation could be seen in action. The event brought together the technologies, strategies and innovations that are making more connected, intelligent and people-centric work environments possible.

Organisations are no longer focused solely on implementing hybrid work models. They are now looking to create adaptable, personalised and efficient spaces. From AI-powered collaboration tools to advanced space analytics solutions and immersive communication environments, InfoComm 2026 demonstrated how audiovisual technology helps teams work more effectively from anywhere.

At the heart of this transformation was Smart Workplace, powered by FORTÉ: a fully immersive environment designed to demonstrate how people, spaces and technology can come together to enhance the workplace experience. Through a series of interconnected spaces—from reception areas and social zones to meeting rooms, individual workstations and a content production and broadcasting studio—attendees experienced first-hand how integrated systems remove barriers, facilitate collaboration and enable more seamless work experiences.

Today’s workplace is no longer defined by a single space or platform; it is an ecosystem. InfoComm 2026 was designed to demonstrate how AV, IT and AI converge in real-world environments to create workplaces that are more connected, more intelligent and ultimately more effective for the people who use them, said Jenn Heinold, Senior Vice President of Expositions, Americas, at AVIXA, organiser of InfoComm.

The Smart Workplace experience featured an integrated technology infrastructure combining control systems, collaboration platforms, audio, video and analytics to deliver consistent and scalable solutions for the modern workplace.

Attendees discovered how these environments address a wide range of needs, from focused individual work to global team collaboration and large-scale corporate communications.

• Communication spaces optimised for content distribution, improving both internal and external communications.
• Intelligent workplace management systems capable of delivering real-time insights into space utilisation and performance.

Taken together, these solutions reflect a growing trend towards workplaces that are not only connected but also capable of understanding context and continuously optimising themselves.

AI, automation and the next generation of work

Artificial intelligence will play a fundamental role in shaping the workplace of the future, driving everything from intelligent meeting workflows to predictive analytics on space utilisation.

At InfoComm 2026, Microsoft and Cisco shared their vision from the main stage on how AI is transforming collaboration and the user experience in workplace environments.

Microsoft demonstrated how its AI-powered solutions—Teams Phone, Teams Rooms, Teams Events and Teams Premium—are shaping the future of communication across physical and digital spaces, enabling more connected, inclusive and efficient collaboration.

Cisco, meanwhile, presented its Connected Intelligence strategy, demonstrating how the integration of AV, IT and AI infrastructures can unify workplaces, simplify management and provide more accurate insights into space utilisation and team collaboration.

Learning on the show floor with vision stage

In addition to hands-on demonstrations, attendees expanded their knowledge at the Vision Stage, a learning-focused area dedicated to real-world applications and emerging trends.

The programme included:

• Trend analysis sessions on artificial intelligence applied to the workplace and digital transformation.
• Product demonstrations and real-world use cases.
• Sessions led by experts in immersive and human-centred workplace design, including Zoom: AI-First, Human-Centered Workspaces and Vision Stage Showdown: Powering the Future Workplace.

Visitors also took part in Future Workplace, a guided tour of the exhibition floor focused on the future of collaboration. These tours offer a curated look at the technologies transforming hybrid work, from advanced audio systems and video intelligence to cloud platforms and AI-powered tools.
