IMEX Frankfurt is placing the focus on technological innovation for venues, hotels and corporate events.

The event has unveiled the first details of its educational program for the next edition, which will take place from May 19 to 21 at Messe Frankfurt.

The agenda introduces new sessions focused on artificial intelligence, experience design, sustainability and technology applied to corporate events—areas increasingly linked to the audiovisual infrastructure of hotels, convention centers and corporate venues.

The organization has presented eleven learning tracks, including four new ones that will address topics ranging from the practical use of AI tools to the design of more inclusive and sustainable environments for meetings and conferences.

According to Tahira Endean, head of IMEX’s educational program, the goal is to reflect how professional environments and meeting spaces are evolving: new technological tools, higher sustainability demands, and audiences with expectations very different from those of just a few years ago.

AI and technology ecosystems in the events sector

One of the new learning blocks, Tech-enabled futures, will focus on the practical use of technology and artificial intelligence-based solutions for managing events and meetings. Sessions will explore how to integrate new tools into existing technology ecosystems, optimize digital platforms, and improve operational efficiency.

The program will also address emerging issues related to digital security, such as deepfakes, fraud, or false requests during contracting processes—an increasingly relevant aspect for organizers, venues and technology providers.

Space design and attendee experience

Another new track, Designing for human needs, explores how to design more inclusive event environments centered on the user experience. The program will analyze, for example, how to adapt spaces to different attendee profiles and how to measure the emotional impact of a live experience.

In parallel, the Design Matters track positions design as a strategic element for differentiating events, brands and organizations. In the context of corporate venues, hotels or convention centers, this approach directly connects with the design of hybrid spaces where architecture, AV technology and user experience are integrated into a single environment.

Sustainability and new event models

The agenda will also include the Regenerative Design track, dedicated to sustainability strategies in the events sector. Planned topics include material reuse, waste reduction and collaboration with suppliers to minimize environmental impact—factors that are increasingly influencing the technical planning of conferences and meetings.

Education and networking for the corporate events sector

The IMEX Frankfurt educational program will combine technical content with sessions focused on leadership, professional wellbeing and organizational culture, reflecting the transformation of the corporate events sector and its growing relationship with technology, data and user experience.

Training sessions will be free to attend and many of them can be accredited as part of professional certifications within the industry.

With its 2026 edition, IMEX aims to consolidate its position as a meeting point for corporate event professionals, venues, hotels, technology integrators and digital solution providers, at a time when the convergence of physical spaces, audiovisual infrastructure and digital platforms is redefining the design of meetings and conferences.
