Onfido partners with Tateside to elevate the technology standard at its new Liverpool Street headquarters.

The company turned to the technical expertise of London-based integrators Tateside to equip its new workspace with a comprehensive audiovisual solution.

Having built a strong professional relationship through a previous project for its all-hands meeting room in 2017, Tateside was responsible for the complete design and installation of the new Hive event space and nine meeting rooms at the offices, located near Liverpool Street in London.

We were pleased to continue our collaboration with Onfido, part of the Entrust group, on this new project. Entrust had specified a Neat technology solution for Onfido’s meeting rooms, a versatile shared event space, and integration with other building systems such as doors and electronics, confirms Richard Day, Director at Tateside.

Tateside OnFido 5 HIOnfido requested Microsoft Teams Room environments to streamline scheduling and room usage. A technology standard with a high level of security was required, limiting bring-your-own-device (BYOD) scenarios through simplified one-touch meeting join features. In addition, Tateside was asked to reuse part of the existing equipment from previous offices, combining new and legacy technology within the upgraded system. Of course, reliability and scalability were also key factors.

In the larger meeting rooms, Tateside installed Neat Bar Pro bundles with integrated cameras and microphones for video conferencing via Microsoft Teams. Each room also includes scheduling panels mounted outside to display meeting details and availability, along with an on-desk Neat Pad controller. Smaller huddle rooms feature the Neat Bar Gen 2, offering built-in scheduling and control via a single Neat Pad. These touchscreens allow users to join meetings with one tap or by entering a meeting ID.

To maintain Onfido’s strict security protocols, content sharing from personal devices is disabled in most rooms. However, BYOD functionality is enabled in the boardroom and event space to facilitate collaboration and external presentations. In select rooms, Onfido opted to reuse existing displays as part of a cost-effective upgrade. These include 86” iiyama screens mounted on adjustable brackets that can extend or retract, offering a clean yet functional design solution. The boardroom, however, had unique requirements.Tateside OnFido 4 HI

We approached the boardroom differently, as we once again needed to reuse some existing equipment while integrating a new audio system into the conferencing hardware. We also supplied two iiyama screens, matching the standard used in the other rooms, as well as a Neat Pad scheduling display, explains Day.

Additionally, Tateside integrated a Shure MXA920 ceiling microphone, a Shure P300 audio processor, and a Powersoft amplifier powering three Bose FS2 pendant loudspeakers, chosen to complement the room’s lighting fixtures. As a final touch, the ceiling microphone was custom-painted to match the room’s interior. This attention to audio quality in the boardroom ensures exceptional clarity during the most important business meetings.

The most technically demanding area in Onfido’s new offices is the Hive event and communal space, designed to host all-hands meetings, social activities, and presentations. At the heart of the system is the Yealink MVC S90 Microsoft Teams Room bundle, which includes dual 4K PTZ cameras with intelligent presenter tracking. This AI-powered system ensures remote participants remain visually connected to the speaker, even as they move around the stage. Complementing the visual experience is a 7,500-lumen Epson projector, paired with a 3.2-metre screen and ultra-short-throw lens.Tateside OnFido 3 HIAudio throughout the space is enterprise-grade. The Sennheiser SpeechLine series provides handheld and lapel microphones with Dante-enabled connectivity for scalable audio-over-IP integration. These mics connect to a QSC Q-SYS Core 8 Flex processor, which manages audio routing and control with low latency. Amplification is handled by a Powersoft Mezzo amplifier, powering six Bose DesignMax pendant loudspeakers distributed throughout the space for even audio coverage.

Control and content sharing were designed with everyday users in mind. The Q-SYS system integrates with Yealink, providing centralized control of audio, video, and environmental settings. Blustream’s HDBaseT extenders and wall plate transmitters handle long-distance HDMI and control signal distribution, allowing clean content sharing from wall inputs or remote displays to the projector.

“Integrating legacy equipment with new technology standards, working within security restrictions, and coordinating with other contractors required adaptability and problem-solving”, says Day. “But the result has been very positive. The user experience is greatly improved, with one-touch meeting starts, high-quality audio and video across all spaces, and a clean integration consistent with the Onfido brand aesthetics”.Tateside OnFido 2 HI

Completed within a strict timeframe, the project has received highly positive feedback from the client, who has since recommended Tateside to other companies.

We always take full ownership of our projects, which benefits the client because they know we can — and will — deliver a complete solution on time and to specification. We’ve solved some key issues they faced at their previous offices, such as meeting room audio, while also giving them the opportunity to start fresh, helping them design and build a high-quality system that enhances their operations. In that sense, we are recognized as trusted advisors, not just competent installers, continues Day.
