In its strong commitment to innovation, the university has equipped its new teaching blocks with 226 professional Sony BRAVIA 4K displays, creating a modern, connected, and sustainable environment for students and faculty.
Technological renewal worthy of an award-winning university
For this ambitious project, the university trusted integrator Roche AV, who selected a combination of models from Sony’s BZ30J, BZ40H, and BZ50L series. The goal: to equip the spaces with a robust, intuitive, and scalable audiovisual solution.
The versatility of the BRAVIA displays, along with their impeccable image quality, made Sony the obvious choice. From integrated signage to the included adjustable mounting system, everything about BRAVIA is designed to facilitate installations of this scale without compromising quality, explains Craig Pickard, Operations Director at Roche AV.
Three buildings, one unified audiovisual solution
The new development includes three educational buildings featuring multipurpose classrooms, immersive rooms, divisible spaces, and even simulated commercial environments. In such a dynamic setting, operational simplicity was essential. Thanks to the BRAVIA Signage Free system, content can play automatically via USB, eliminating the need for additional software or complex configurations.
Real sustainability, not just aesthetics
The installation also reflects Sheffield Hallam’s environmental commitment. BRAVIA displays incorporate SORPLAS™, Sony’s recycled plastic with flame retardant, drastically reducing the use of virgin plastics. In addition, each display includes an Eco Dashboard that allows technical staff to monitor and optimize energy consumption in real time.
