To deliver a renewed visual experience for live events, the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana, installed 20 LED screens totaling over 914.40 square meters in 2024.
The centerpiece of the project hangs from the center of the venue and features a continuous main video screen that wraps around the central structure to engage all the seats in the arena.
The Ford Center has always exceeded expectations using our digital signage to maximize event and audience experiences. The new 360-degree display will give us even more flexibility to be creative and make each event even more special and customized, said Scott Schoenike, Executive Director of VenuWorks/Ford Center.
Central screen details
The central structure features a continuous main video screen with rounded corners measuring nearly 4.57 meters high by 29.57 meters around, and an upper ring screen matching the shape of the main screen, measuring approximately 0.76 meters high by 29.57 meters around. A lower ring screen in a circular shape measures nearly 2 feet high by 23.47 meters in circumference. The three central screens have a pixel pitch of 5.9 millimeters to deliver crisp images.

The main screen is capable of variable content zoning, allowing it to display a large image or be divided into multiple content zones. This includes live and pre-recorded video, instant replays, and all the engaging content that audiences expect from today's live event experiences.
Additional details
Surrounding the audience with digital content, four ribbon-shaped screens were installed along the seating fascia. Each of these screens measures approximately 0.76 meters high and has a pixel pitch of 10 millimeters. They vary in length from 58.98 meters long to 14.02 meters long, combining for 420.76 linear meters of digital screen space. Each ribbon screen complements the content on the central system.
Closer to the action, seven scorer tables beside the court can be used in any configuration to provide more graphics, animations, and statistics for any event. Each table measures approximately 0.76 meters high by 2.44 meters long and features a pixel pitch of 5.9 millimeters.
Completing the installation, three additional double-sided screens were installed on the basketball hoop supports to provide prime advertising space. Each of these six screens measures approximately 0.30 meters high by 1.22 meters wide and features a pixel pitch of 2.5 millimeters.
A complete show control solution was included. This system provides a combination of display control software, world-class video processing, data integration, and playback hardware that forms a powerful and user-friendly production solution.
