Shure celebrates 10 years of Microflex® Advance™ (MXA) with the new MXA925 and MXA901 updates.
The company introduced the MXA925 Ceiling Microphone, the latest addition to its Microflex® Advance (MXA) product line, designed to deliver the highest-quality audio performance even in the most acoustically challenging spaces. Alongside the launch, Shure also announced a firmware update for the MXA901 Ceiling Microphone, expanding its capabilities for high-quality audio capture, flexibility, and control across meeting rooms of all sizes.
As MXA celebrates its tenth anniversary, Shure continues to advance ceiling microphone technology to address integrators’ biggest challenges: delivering exceptional audio capture, simplifying AV installation, and enhancing network security and remote management to support AI-driven work environments, both today and in the future.
AI-powered integrated DSP delivers exceptional audio quality for modern meeting spaces
The new MXA925 ceiling microphone features an entirely new processing platform that becomes smarter over time. The MXA925 includes AI-enabled IntelliMix® digital signal processing (DSP), delivering superior audio capture and optimal speech intelligibility across a wide range of acoustic environments. For end users, this means better-sounding meetings, with voices remaining clear even in rooms with poor acoustics where hearing has traditionally been difficult. For IT and AV teams, it means fewer adjustments, fewer support incidents and service requests, and more consistent performance across spaces, along with cleaner audio that powers the AI tools used in everyday meetings.
AI-powered acoustic echo cancellation (AEC), combined with AI-driven noise reduction and reverberation reduction, enables the MXA925 to overcome real-world meeting room challenges such as loudspeakers positioned too close to the microphone, reverberation caused by windows and reflective surfaces, participants moving while speaking, or distracting background noises such as keyboards and pen clicks.
These AI-trained features work immediately out of the box, making deployment easier and accelerating standardization across meeting spaces. Regular firmware updates will continue to improve performance and protect customer investments as Shure further develops and refines the MXA925’s AI-powered algorithms.

The MXA925 also integrates seamlessly into IT workflows, providing enhanced security through dual RJ45 network connectivity for secure and protected communications. Remote device management, real-time monitoring, and firmware updates are delivered through ShureCloud.
Certified for Microsoft Teams and Zoom, the new MXA925 provides the precise and detailed audio capture required by collaboration spaces that rely daily on AI-powered tools such as Copilot and AI Companion.
MXA901firmware update expands flexibility and control
Shure is also expanding the capabilities of the MXA901 ceiling microphone with firmware update v6.9, providing customers with greater flexibility and control while maintaining the same sleek industrial design. New features include enhanced support for voice-lift applications through discrete outputs in Steerable Coverage™ mode, improved camera tracking through the Optimize Tracking feature, additional Automixer and Speech Gating Threshold controls, and a unique, fully flexible automatic coverage area to ensure natural speech reproduction in more demanding room applications.
Thanks to these firmware enhancements, the MXA901 can now support even more workplace applications, and existing installations can accommodate a wider variety of room layouts without requiring additional or upgraded hardware.
Continuing the MXA legacy
From the original MXA910 introduced in 2016 to today’s MXA925, the enhanced MXA901, and the recently launched MXA320, the entire MXA product family continues to innovate.
