Panasonic is expanding its projection portfolio with a new model aimed at professional environments and immersive experiences.
The company has launched the PT-HTQ20, a new 1-Chip DLP projector that, according to the manufacturer, brings for the first time the color quality characteristic of 3-Chip DLP systems to a compact single-chip platform.
This 4K RGB laser projector delivers 20,000 lumens and supports the wide Rec. 2020 color gamut. It is designed for immersive and experiential applications where high levels of both color fidelity and brightness are required.
At the core of the projector is the new VIVID PRIME RGB laser light source. According to Panasonic, it covers more than 95% of the Rec. 2020 color space and provides uniform brightness across the image. The RGB-plus-phosphor design optimizes the reproduction of Rec. 709 content and ensures smooth color gradations. In addition, a high-speed color switching system reduces the well-known rainbow effect associated with 1-Chip DLP systems, delivering a more stable and less fatiguing viewing experience.
At Panasonic, our goal with the PT-HTQ20 was to bring the visual impact of 3-Chip DLP projection to a compact and flexible 1-Chip platform, without compromise. By combining wide-gamut Rec. 2020 color with high-speed color switching and balanced brightness, we deliver a natural, immersive and artifact-free viewing experience, explains Eduard Gajdek, Field Marketing Manager Visual Systems DACH at Panasonic Connect Europe.
4K image reproduction is based on Quad Pixel Drive technology, complemented by an enhanced Gradation Smoother to reduce banding effects. For professional applications, Panasonic relies on a filterless design with up to 20,000 hours of low-maintenance operation, Multi-Laser Drive redundancy and a backup input for critical uses. A special coating increases resistance to dust and moisture, while a mechanical shutter protects the DMD chip from stray light caused by stage lighting.
In terms of installation, the PT-HTQ20 is compatible with the D3 lens series and existing mounting frames. It also features an Intel SDM slot, support for the Smart Projector Control app, remote preview functionality and the Visual Software Suite for system management and workflow automation.
