DAZN has chosen PPDS to bring the world's largest sports streaming platform to hotel rooms.

PPDS announces a partnership with DAZN, the leading sports entertainment platform and the top football broadcaster in Europe, to bring its live and on-demand content streaming services to hotel rooms for the first time, exclusively through Philips MediaSuite hospitality televisions.

Ready to be unveiled and showcased for the first time at ISE 2024 in Barcelona (Philips Stand 3P500), the new global partnership reinforces PPDS's clear and unparalleled mission to offer the industry's widest and most flexible range of in-room TV entertainment services for hotels, allowing guests to take full control of their viewing experiences.

Launched in 2016 and headquartered in London (UK), DAZN offers a wide selection of live sports and entertainment, including top-tier men's and women's football, professional boxing, MMA, motorsports, wrestling, and tennis, broadcast annually on the platform.

Available in over 200 countries - including a strong national presence with premium football rights in Italy, Spain, Germany, Japan, France, Portugal, Belgium, Taiwan, the United States, and Canada - DAZN has amassed over 60 million subscribers and 300 million monthly users worldwide. Over 1.2 billion hours of content are streamed annually through the DAZN app, which was previously accessible primarily through a range of connected consumer devices such as mobiles, tablets, and gaming consoles.

The complete package

As part of this exciting and unprecedented partnership between DAZN and PPDS, the global leader in Android SoC hospitality televisions, the DAZN application will be available for the first time on Philips MediaSuite televisions installed in hotel rooms.

Developed in collaboration and exclusively tailored for use on the Philips MediaSuite series - the hotel TV chosen by some of the world's most recognized hotel brands, such as Accor, IHG, Marriott, and Radisson - the DAZN app will be available for guests to enjoy on the big screen (for example) the upcoming major boxing match of Anthony Joshua or Katie Taylor.

Hotels wishing to subscribe to DAZN can choose from two offerings based on their target audience. DAZN Base, included as standard in each package, will offer all sports for which DAZN holds rights worldwide. To this Base package, DAZN Ultimate can be added, for key territories that have additional rights requirements, for example, the Bundesliga in Germany.

A big win

To enjoy more powerful and immersive sound and visual experiences, hoteliers can also include the new Philips HAL5023 professional soundbar with integrated subwoofer, designed and configured exclusively for Philips MediaSuite televisions, which will also be featured at ISE 2024.

Jeroen Verhaeghe, Global Business Development Director Hospitality, commented: "Philips MediaSuite was created to transform the outdated and tired in-room television experience. By operating on Android, we wanted to offer hoteliers a TV solution that could evolve with customer needs and keep pace with market trends. That is, providing what is necessary for them to take control of how, when, and by what means they prefer to consume their content".

We are proud to respond quickly to market changes, including implementing new applications and services that guests demand. We have demonstrated this with our partnerships with Netflix and Apple TV+ in recent years, and with the popularity and demand for DAZN, we are delighted to have been selected to become the world's first hotel TV manufacturer to offer their fantastic streaming service through Philips MediaSuite televisions, he added.

Rachelle Peterson, SVP Global Commercial Distribution at DAZN, added: "Here at DAZN, the focus is on ensuring that customers have access to the best and widest range of quality content, while at the same time, having the best possible experience through the platform. The demand for services is growing exponentially, and we are always exploring opportunities to further expand our reach and bring even greater value to new and existing customers, wherever they are, even within hotel rooms. We are thrilled to have partnered with PPDS, a company that shares this obsession with quality and experience, and to introduce the DAZN app for the first time in rooms with Philips MediaSuite".

Whether you're on vacation or on a business trip, the DAZN app on Philips MediaSuites means you can now enjoy all your favorite sports events on your room's TV in up to 4K resolution, along with great sound. At PPDS, our philosophy is always to stay ahead. This is demonstrated once again with the partnership with DAZN. Gone are the days when we had to squint to watch quality sports in the hotel room. We look forward to showcasing this new great platform at ISE 2024, Jeroen concluded.
