LED screens have become an essential tool for promoting and highlighting your business.

Whether for advertising, signage, or events, selecting the right LED screen is crucial to effectively convey your message.

This guide explores the key factors to consider when choosing an LED screen, from pixel pitch to brightness, to help you make an informed decision.

The viewing distance of the LED advertising screen

The viewing distance on LED screens refers to the optimal distance from which viewers can see the screen content clearly and legibly. In other words, it's the distance at which details and text on the screen are easily discernible and not blurry or illegible.

Depending on the distance from the LED screen, the pixel pitch size will be chosen. Pixel Pitch is the physical distance, measured in millimeters, between two pixels and determines the screen's resolution.

It's important to find the right balance between LED screen pixel pitch size and viewing distance, as a screen with too large pixel pitch seen from a very close distance can lose details, while a screen with a small pixel pitch seen from too far away can hinder content readability.

The resolution of an LED screen

The resolution of an LED screen refers to the number of pixels that make up the screen and determines the image quality it can display.

To calculate the resolution, it's important to assess both the screen size and pixel pitch. For example, if we have an LED screen of 3,600 mm x 2,025 mm (width x height) with a pixel pitch of 1.875, the resolution of our screen would be obtained by dividing the width by the pixel pitch and the height by the pixel pitch. In our example, it would be 3,600 / 1.875 and 2,025 / 1.875, resulting in a Full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels.

Keep in mind that screens with high resolution are suitable for indoor environments where viewers can be close to the screen, while screens with slightly lower resolution may suffice for outdoor environments where the viewing distance is greater.Synetech pantalla perfecta 3 HI

What brightness and protection grade is best for an LED screen?

When selecting the brightness and protection grade of an LED screen, it's important to know the location of the screen. Whether the advertising screen will be installed indoors, in a shop window, or outdoors. Having clarity on this point will not only help us convey the message more effectively but also eliminate unnecessary costs.

The following table shows the recommended brightness and protection grade for each location of the LED screen:

Indoor LED Screen Shop Window LED Screen Outdoor LED Screen
Brightness (nits) 600 - 1,000 4,500 - 6,000 4,500 - 10,000
Protection Grade (IP) IP20 - IP30 IP54 - IP65 IP65 - IP67

Choosing the perfect LED screen for your business involves considering a series of key factors, from pixels to brightness and protection grade. Finding the right balance among them will ensure that your message reaches your audience effectively and cost-effectively, significantly reducing unnecessary expenses.
